It doesn't matter does it? Just so long as she's pretty....
I read an article not to long ago about resumes, and about this one particular gentleman's difficulty getting job interviews. Now, he was plenty qualified with degrees and years of experience (he was middle aged). The story told of how he sent out hundreds of resumes with nary a call back. He took another look at his resume again and made one small change, he added "Mr." in front of his name. His first name you see is "Kim." He began getting call backs and interviews the story goes and eventually found a job. Yes, sexism is still very much alive on planet earth. We also should note his age as well, because age discrimination is alive and kickin out there too. I don't want to be a whiner because I've had my turn. I was one of those young pretty ones who got the job because the bosses liked to be surrounded by pretty girls and thought the clientel would too. I use to work for a convenience store that catered to the local construction crews in the area. Guess what all the clerks were, yep young pretty girls. And the kicker is the manager at the time was a woman. Yep, we women have done it to ourselves too. At a job interview it was explained to me that they were changing the color of the uniforms soon, the office had new wallpaper and the color of the scrubbs was going to match the wallpaper. Needless to say, I did not follow up on that job lead.
So, here I am... middle aged, looking for work and not finding any (but I'm not whinning). Hence, the reason why I am attching this CBS video "Disability USA". Sure its about corruption and people gaiming the system but I like the way it ends. Simply put, there is not enough jobs out there for everyone and a person does what a person needs to do to survive.
